Welcome to my kitchen!
My name is Sophia Kim, and I live in New York, a place that never runs out of energy or inspiration. I’m in my late twenties, and cooking has become my way of slowing life down and making sense of busy days. I didn’t grow up in a professional kitchen, but I grew up watching food bring people together, and that stayed with me. Over time, cooking turned from something I had to do into something I truly loved.

I started in the kitchen the same way many beginners do, following simple recipes, getting confused, and making plenty of mistakes. I’ve burned breakfasts, overcooked dinners, and underestimated desserts more times than I can count. But every mistake taught me something useful, and little by little, cooking stopped feeling scary. I realized that you don’t need to know everything to cook well, you just need to start.
Now I cook a little bit of everything. Breakfasts that help you begin the day calmly, easy lunches and brunch meals for weekends, simple dinners that fit into real schedules, and desserts that feel like a reward, not a project. I also enjoy planning meals because it makes life easier and takes the stress out of deciding what to cook every day. I like showing that planning doesn’t have to be strict, it can be flexible and kind to your time.

I cook for beginners, home cooks, and food lovers who want food to feel approachable and enjoyable. My style is simple, practical, and full of flavor. I believe cooking should fit into your life, not take it over. Some days are quick and messy, some days are slow and cozy, and both are perfectly fine.
For me, cooking is about care, care for yourself, for the people you cook for, and for the small moments in between. If my stories and recipes help someone feel more confident in the kitchen or more excited to cook their next meal, then I know I’m on the right path.
